What do you think of the new wordpress theme?

Tuesday, 8th December, 2009 Comments 3

I’m so happy with the new blog theme!

Thanks to the talent of our designer friend, Damian, and software development skillz of our Indian software partners Daffodil Software the whole Listingslab Productions package is coming together.

It’s been a long, hard  job over the summer and inter-season but the work jag is coming to an end now. With an original design coded into compliant XHTML, a drupal and a wordpress theme, all that remains is to roll out the design using a whitelabel approach to all the sites I’ve got in my portfolio.

There’s a lot of ‘em….

to name just a few of the new ones.

About Daffodil Software
Based in India, in a small city of under half a million souls are our Indian coding parnters Daffodil Software.

Back to YouTube

sorry vimeo. Youtibe is back. I’ll keep in touch. I’ll continue to host all mu video production from the ground up. I’ll tag it and describe it for you, but it’s all in preparation for the hard release to youbube from now on.

Everything that reaches the Listingslab-Productions.eu playlist will be hosted and shown by the youtube player rather than the vimeo player. It’s better, and here’s why.

If you embed a film from youtube into your website…… it workd on an iphone. You hit the link which looks broken for everyone else and it opens in the iphone’s youtube viewer. Check this post out on an iphone and tell me the video below doesn’t work!

Google Latitude. The real Marauders' Map

Friday, 31st July, 2009 Add Comments

Remember how everyone started to bang on about how mobile phones would be used to track people’s whereabouts as soon as they’d seen mobile phone triangulation on the TV? Then GPS was added to phones and people started to think that if they gave their 7 year old kid a mobile phone and tracked them on a computer, it would stop them getting in trouble.

Now there’s Google Latitude. Free, as Google services invariably are, Latitude actually allows you to create a network of friends who are moving around on a map according to their fairly frequently (every 5 mins or so) updated GPS location.

Amazing. It’s like the Marauders’ Map in Harry Potter. Here’s the little snippet that Google kindly gave me which should show you my actual, real physical location.

See if you notice me going to the pub at about 6 o’clock.

Google Analytics

Saturday, 3rd March, 2007 Add Comments

Google Analytics is rapidly becoming the industry standard for measuring website traffic. At this stage we will set up a google analytics profile for the website. This is done either on the client’s own Google account, with us granted access to view the statistics, or if preferred on our own Google account with the client being given access to their statistics.

The analytics code will then be added to the entire website and tracking started. We will also set up conversion goals in the Analytics account so we can also start to measure the effectiveness of converting traffic to our goal actions.
