CerosMedia 2.0

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

I haven’t been writing my blog this week not because I’ve fallen into a crevasse, but because I’ve been writing code. This was no pineapple birth. OK, so there was some raised voices at the end, but c’est normale huh? This puppy went live the day it was supposed to. And how.

This is the best website I’ve ever made. It wasn’t designed by me, or even conceived by me, but I made it. I based the functionality on an up to date drupal 6.2 installation. Messed with it as little as possible. Changed look and feel and added new flash/drupal integration technology that has hitherto only been thought of. Never done. Which is where my fee comes in. I can’t say how much it costs to build a website like the one below, but it’s non-trivial to me.

Have a look at the website now - and tell us…. by contacting cerosmedia.com or listingslab. Were you entertained?

Mad as lorries

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

Global Economic slowdown? Good! Why do we we want everything to be so fast anyway? Everyone’s running round as mad as lorries as it is! Slowing everything down a bit can only help. Housing market crash, pension time bombs, recession, credit crunch, blah blah blah. Forget about it. It’s self-perpetuating media hyped bullshit anyway. Focus on what’s important. What are you having for breakfast this morning? Will you enjoy it?

listingslab youtubeThe start of video content to the blog. I have always enjoyed the extra impact a video can have as a blog post, and like the fact that google open up the API to their youtube offering.

Here’s the new Listings Lab YouTube Channel. Blog digest version 1.0

Hooray! I’m a city financial whizkid

Monday, November 26th, 2007

I risked nearly £500 of my hard-earned quids at the end of last week by buying some Northern Rock shares at what I decided MUST be the rockest, bottomest price they could go to. Unless they went into liquidation. And surely that couldn’t happen?  As soon as a solution to the problem raised its head (ie a buyer was found), the price would shoot up surely? And boink!!! The boy Branson’s offer bounced the share price by 50%! I sold the shares again this morning and made nearly £250. Then I promptly rang up Northern Rock and paid my November mortgage payment partly with that money. Is that robbing Peter to pay Paul? It’s definitely robbing someone - the unfortunate Northern Rock shareholders probably. Damn spivs.
