I had some brilliant news today. Off and on I’ve been in touch with Andy, a friend of mine from my London days for the past few years. He’s been keeping up to date with his London escape plan, which has neccarily had to remain secret so as spook his employers. But today he’s reached escape velocity has been reached and is taking up that most modern of challenges - Quitting his day job, turning off the TV and going to do something less boring instead.

He’ll be working for Coral Cay Conservation as a professional scuba diver in Asia. Go on, mate - ‘ave it! Read more about Andy’s plans here. Go on. I dare you!

New Fresh Vision website launched today

Listings Lab proudly announces the launch of a new client website for Fresh Vision. It’s not a high-tech website but it is simple, pretty and was put together with better Search Marketing in mind. In a few weeks time, when the Search Engines have indexed it thoroughly the company will see a significant increase in their rankings and organic traffic, which will lead to more business enquiries.

We’re quite chuffed that it’s finished and live.

CerosMedia 2.0

I haven’t been writing my blog this week not because I’ve fallen into a crevasse, but because I’ve been writing code. This was no pineapple birth. OK, so there was some raised voices at the end, but c’est normale huh? This puppy went live the day it was supposed to. And how.

This is the best website I’ve ever made. It wasn’t designed by me, or even conceived by me, but I made it. I based the functionality on an up to date drupal 6.2 installation. Messed with it as little as possible. Changed look and feel and added new flash/drupal integration technology that has hitherto only been thought of. Never done. Which is where my fee comes in. I can’t say how much it costs to build a website like the one below, but it’s non-trivial to me.

WHAT! A busy week.

I hardly had time to blow my nose this week. And I ALWAYS make time to blow my nose. A lot of emails sent. A lot of Skype conversations had. A lot of work done. I’m trying to get all the various projects I’m working on under control before my friend Phil arrives on Tuesday. I’m going to take as much time off work as possible this week - and go skiing.

Phil and I have been talking about starting ski-mountaineering together since I moved here 2 years ago, and we’re finally going to get started. It’s a big step for me going from following more experienced skiers to actually leading myself. I’ve got a few different ski-tours planned, plus a run on the Vallee Blanche and some other off piste stuff on the Grande Montets. I’m a bit concerned about the weather - it’s supposedly going to snow a lot this week, which hopefully won’t limit our options too much. New snow is great, but can make the mountain dangerous with an increased avalanche risk especially in areas which aren’t skied very much because they’re off the beaten track. So perhaps some transceiver practice would be the plan for the first day, and maybe some crevasse rescue training later in the week when we get stuck into to skiing on the glaciers.
