I'll be skiing in a month
It's been snowing a lot here in the past few days. Snowing properly too, creating a very defined snowline at an altitude which is slowly creeping down. My new place in Le Tour is above the current snowline. There's 2 inches of snow covering the garden, with a fair amount more forecast for later today and tomorrow. Le Tour as a village holds the record in France for being the place where the most snow falls, ever. So I won't be moving any more furniture up there for a few days.
So the waiting is nearly over. In a month I'll be skiing again for the first time since hanging up my skis in May. Even if the lifts aren't open, I'll get a day or so in at Verbier if they get some snow, and there's always the Tignes glacier. If it rains for a few days in Chamonix, I'll head up to Tignes and hope it was raining there too, which would also give the glacier a fresh powder covering.
