Tinted Windows
When you own & run old cars (as I always do) it's usually bad news when it's in the garage. A new clutch, new brakes or the thing's just plain broken down is more usual. But not today. I've been slowly doing up my 10 year old Volkswagen Transporter over the past few months, but today it's in the garage again for la piece de resistance: I'm getting the windows tinted :)
Aside from the obvious benefit of making me look even MORE like a drug dealer than I do already, the main reason for this is a security/privacy thing. The black tint I'm getting put on is so dark that someone standing with their nose right up against the window still couldn't see in from the outside.
I'm usually driving around with all sorts of equipment - climbing gear, a mountain bike, tents & in the winter several pairs of skis etc. I'd prefer people not to be able to see all that. Also, it'll give us a little bit of privacy when needed - a place o get changed comfortably out of the public view when we're camping etc.
I can't wait to pick it up tomorrow & see what it looks like!
