Highland Dress

My sister is getting married this August. She’s the first of us siblings to tie the knot, and the whole family’s looking forward to getting together for the wedding in Germany this summer. My father, who was born and bred in Aberdeen , Scotland had the idea the other week of going in Highland Dress - kilts, sporrans, the lot. Obviously this is going to freak the Germans out a bit, going in a skirt, so I agreed to wear a kilt too as moral support. It’s all done and dusted - we’ve been measured up & hired all the kit ready for the big day already. I can’t wait to try it on myself, but this morning I asked the old boy when the last time was that he’d worn a kilt. Turns out he was about 10 years old! He even managed to dig out an old picture of him in his wee sporran. How cool is that?
