So… the plan

Thankfully I woke up this morning feeling the absence of the cold that’s been bothering me. It’s time, at last, to address 2008 and make a plan for the year. Time was where the top of that piece of paper would say ‘Plan for world domination’. Not these days. I’m 32 now & that’s a young man’s game. Not that I’m ready to take up pipe smoking, but I am ready to start trying to start concentrating on building something solid, lasting and living my life in a way that makes me and the people in my life feel happy and at peace.

2007 was up and down. I made some serious mistakes and flew too close to the wind for much of it. I came through at the end with a tough stint in the smoke, and now I’m set up for a good year to come now, but I need to concentrate. To plan and prioritise.

Here’s what I want to accomplish in 2008:

  1. Buy a place here in the Chamonix valley whilst continuing to own and rent out my London flat.
  2. To take a business project through to a point where it’s generating a reliable income of a thousand a month completely separately from ongoing client work.
  3. To advance in all my sports - skiing, climbing, parapente and diving
  4. To settle several longstanding debts I have acquired in the past few years

Those are achievable, measurable goals that I can always refer to. If I ever feel like I don’t know what I’m doing, I can look at those goals and think what can I do today that’s going to bring me closer to one or more of those?
