Getting ready to leave the valley for a while

Happily, Sarah is back today. I’m picking her up from the airport later this afternoon. She’s been away for months, and I can’t wait to see her. I’m only around till the end of the week, however. I’m flying back to the UK on Friday, and starting work after the weekend. I was worrying a little about where I was going to stay for those couple of months. I need somewhere quiet and un-stressful. Working in a busy office will be quite difficult for the first few weeks, so adding to that stress with random, unknown quantities of renting a room in London might add a little too much stress to cope with.

But a solution presented itself today. My great friend Phil lives in Brighton and rents out half his flat. Turns out his tenant has just moved out, so I’m going to move in there for a couple of months. It’s a bit of a commute - an hour and a half from Brighton to Kings Cross, but only a 5 minute walk from Kings X to my job in Angel. Living in Brighton will be great. I’ve never lived there before, but always liked the place. It reminds me of Sydney. Some sea air, and a good mate to hang out with in the evenings. I’m very pleased about it.
