Finally – the Golf is getting replaced
Tuesday, 8th May, 2007 Add CommentsI do love that car. It’s given me the hardest year of it’s life, charging around the haute mountagne, but I have to give the old girl a rest. She’s going to go to the AD garage who have been looking after her, and they can cannibalise her for parts. She’s got some good brakes, a new clutch and a sound engine and there are plenty of old golfs in the valley. Sounds harsh, but such is the life of a motor car.
As a replacement I am buying Volkswagen transporter. It looks a bit like like this but less bling.

A van, really. A 9 seater mini bus. It’s French registered of course, with the steering wheel on the correct side, and it’s been well looked after by my mate Mark. The price is a bargain and it has nearly 2 years controle technique.
It’s built of stern stuff this motor, and like my golf so long as you replace the bakes and clutch when you need to, the thing will run forever.
