The blog returns home
As you can see, I've moved the blog again. blog.listingslab.com was it’s original home, and after a brief foray into the misguided world of citizenbloggers.com (A half-baked plan I had last year to create a world dominating blogging site), I’m pleased that I’ve been able to bring it back to the Listings Lab website where it belongs.
Citizenbloggers was on the MoveableType blogging platform. At the time I moved it last time it was a choice between MoveableType or WordPress and for some very important reason which I now can’t remember I went for MoveableType. That was a mistake. It’s a good, solid platform, but it’s not quite open or free enough. You can’t really hack it very easily and you need a specialist hosting solution most of the time. So now the blog’s on WordPress. I’ve been using it on www.chamonix-valley.com/blog.php for a while and seen some friends use it really well. It’s much better. So hooray for WordPress.
The blog can be a business tool as much as it is a personal one. Every entry I make here gets crawled by the search engines and becomes searchable and any links or trackbacks I pick up along the way help with rankings. The more I write about flash, the more people end up on the site looking for a flash developers. It’s also good for my clients (I hope) to get an idea of who they have working for them.
