Poker night triggers early weekend.

The boys were round geezer Fred’s on Thursday for poker. Andy McCrampons, Mark the Seppo, the boy ward and myself. It was supposed to be civilized, when everyone being able to drive home. It turned out to be late. Very late. And I had to test my new ski jacket out walking the 2km home.

Amazingly I still managed to be in possession of Andy McCrampon’s penknife at the end of the night. I won it off him last time we played, and he even bought it back off me for 10 buck at some point in the evening. I seem to remember winning it back again on a bet that he couldn’t roll double sixes within 10 throws.

I’m reading ‘The Theory of Poker’ at the moment after getting the poker equivalent of a rifle butt to the face the last time I played… It turns out that in-order to win you can’t get wasted and make stupid bets or try and buy your way out of bad bluffs when people have more chips then you.

Kinda takes the fun out of it…
