Being in my thirties
So I’ve been in my thirties for a year now, and I’ve got to admit that I really like it. I feel like I know what I’m doing now, where I’m going and how I’ll get there. This year I’ve kept quiet about my birthday and after the big deal of turning 30 last year I thought I’d like to just chill out and have some time to myself.
I was contemplating the past year, the first year of my 30’s, and when I think about it, I’m amazed about what I’ve achieved. I’ve set up a company and used it to earn fairly decent money, I’ve moved up to the mountains and set up an office, made some good friends and done loads of dangerous sports without doing myself in. Come to think of it - I literally learned how to fly!
I did get a great present from the lovely Sarah this morning, though. A set of skins for my new touring skis because I’ve planning to start ski touring this winter. For readers who haven’t got a scooby what I’m on about, skins are these bits of material you stick to the bottom of your skis that stop the ski sliding backwards and allows you do ski uphill, letting you access areas of the mountain where there are no lifts, and therefore no people. Then you take the skins off and ski down again.
