Fête de la musique
Every summer in France kicks off with the first big part of the season which is the fête de la musique. The fete happens all over France, and here in Chamonix it goes on all night. The whole town closes apart from the bars who get a late license and everyone pours into town to listen to live music and get plastered.
It was brilliant, except I couldn’t get plastered. And I couldn’t stay out too late. Because at 8am on Thursday morning I’ve got my first parapenting (paragliding) lesson.
